Sociology Research: The “Wet suit” OB

Research Problem
What would people say if they saw someone in a Suit swimming in the ocean completely dressed? I want to know what people will do, say, react to what I do. The reason I am choosing to do this is simply the fact that it isn’t normal. How many times have you been to the beach and saw someone swimming in a suit, few to none. This is so out of the norm that I can get real and unique reactions from my study. The purpose of my project is to see how the general public will react to my outcast behavior.
Operation
How I film this using the camera I have. The camera I have doesn’t have zoom and the quality is bad. You can’t see far figures which will make it hard to see people’s reactions on film. This will make it so the camera man has to stay close which makes the action less fishy, the only water to counter something like this is to do it on a Saturday or Sunday when the beach is full. The things to think about are the number of people around me, or at the beach. How many people are there to react compared to on a busy day. Also will the reactions change is more people are at the beach? I feel the best way to find out id do it over and over on different beaches on different days of the week to get a great result.
Hypothesis
I think people will think I’m crazy or on drugs. They will always be majorly confused and curious to my cause and why I am doing it. I just imagine seeing some guy at the beach with a suit on swimming with his shoes on and his full suit on. I would think he was drugged up or just lost it. He must be crazy or just cracked out of the norm of reality. I would be scared and fearful that he was crazy. I mean if he is on drugs he could flip out on you if you stare at him. He might have lost his job or just gone mad.
Research Design
We didn’t use surveys or anything we just filmed the reactions live. We walked with a “hidden camera” to catch people’s reactions in the making. We also caught voice and comments which help prove the findings. I can’t tell you if the population would be a generalization for everywhere because I haven’t been everywhere but I do think it might be similar with the amount of people at the beach. I feel like I would get the same reactions in many counties in California, I do think it would change if the amount of people at the beach changed to a huge number.
We used the whole population at the beach. We didn’t select anyone. Some people didn’t even notice I was there but we still took that into account. We wanted to make sure that everyone was seen to show the true results of the outcome. I guess the sample would be considered the people at the beach in the middle of the day like surfers, tourist, older folks and such.
Findings
What I found was the way people reacted to what I was doing. The things they did or how they commented me clearly tells me what they thought. Some of them thought I was insane, some thought I was on drugs or I have been out partying all night so I needed a morning wash. People thought I had lost my job and was trying to kill myself or lost my mind all together. I noticed many people where vocal and blatant about what they thought and many wanted to know why I was acting so different. They had so much curiosity in me that some people even took pictures of me and filmed me. I do wonder how it the reactions would change in a larger group of people like when there are 300+ people on the beach. I suppose I would get more reactions because there are more people and more people would notice me right away. I have all my evidence of the reactions on film so that is my proof.
Summary
I found that people are very curious and if they aren’t nervous they will ask you what you’re doing, while others are totally silent about what you are doing and are too fearful to ask what I was doing. I also was surprised to see the cops or life guards didn’t even ask me what I was up to, they just looked at me in confusion and that was the end of it. I feel if the beach was more pacts I would have gotten a ton of reactions compared to the beach being so barren. The more people the more reactions that are possible of happening. I was surprised to see some of the assuming people made like the one about me losing my job, or like this one girl who clapped for me like I was standing up for something. People in suits at the beach catch the attention of everyone. If I was to improve the activity I would use way more cameras, do it on a weekend, have more people filming for me like 3-4 cameras, and also an underwater camera that I would use for the surfers in the water and other swimmers. I would try to get audio from the people that ask me questions or comment on my outfit. I would also try different beaches in different parts of the coast to see that if there is any difference in reactions.

Mexico and United States Relations.

There has been a steadily growing tension between Mexico and the United States. Immigration, drug trafficking, and violence have been creating the tension that exists between the two countries. I believe if we help Mexico rebuild their economy they can be a stronger ally, and their people won’t have as much drive to leave their country like they do now. If we can help Mexico become a world power then that will take off some of the issues we have now with the system. Not only are they our allies but our neighbors, so if Mexico has issues it will directly affect us. By helping rebuild trust between the government and the Mexican citizens, we can see significant changes in the politics and how people fight it. Until then nothing can be fixed over time. I didn't need to read anything because I use to live in Mexico, so I know what issues there are and have lived threw many of them.

A Child's Mind

My name is Tobby, I am a magician. I get all my powers from my turban, a magical hat. I use it to control my surroundings. In my world fantasy is reality. There are no limits to my power. My hat has no rule, no law, and no limits. I found that the turban in a magic shop, the owner told me I will possess all the powers I will ever want. He said the hat doesn’t work for him, for he is too old. Only the purity of a child’s mind can create magic. The limit of the hat’s power is limited to my imagination. I have created a new world where logic doesn’t exist, and the freedoms of my mind wander. The magic exists only to children; other children can see my magic.
I first will summon creatures to play with me. I will turn my friends into animals and I will be a wizard. We play in the local playground as our parents watch. They look my way clueless of my magical actions. I turn all my friends into different animal, Leo a frog, James a lion, and Cathy a turtle. I now want to fly, but I need a beast. I call forth Barter the flying dog and mount. With my hat snug in place, we set forth to the skies.

My Decleration of Independance to the Cathloic Church

When in course of human nature, there comes a time when I must dissolve the bands which tie me from the religion I was born into. Times of the present have changed. No longer are people unable to see the world with their own eyes, find crucial information for at one time was not there. There is a global community of people, no longer are we controlled by ones town and government which has been influenced by the religion of the people. My Catholic forefathers have manipulated and forever changed the thoughts of my ancestors, but have not influenced my young eager mind. I will not be held down with the fear of a burning prison, but let my mind drift in the river of knowledge that will forever flow till the end of humanity. The amount of knowledge one can acquires, has exponentially changed threw the 21st century. The age of light is upon us. No longer will science be shunned and look down upon, but will rise from each dark corner of this reached world and show the true light which one day all humanity will look at in awe.
It has left its followers in confusion.
It has only relied on faith and not fact.
It has created greed not abolished.
It has killed more than protected.
It has taken one’s wealth and used for unreasonable purposes.
It has starved its followers and enriched its preachers.
It lives above the law, or becomes law.
It changes instincts to evil and anything good must be wrong.
It changes stories with each new branch.
It starts wars, does not end them.
It creates a false world, and hides the skeletons.
It takes all reason and vaporizes it, only a book holds all knowledge.
It uses its followers to do thy bidding for the security of the hierarchy.
I therefore will forever break the bonds that try to hold me back. The bonds that want to cloud my judgment. The chains that want me to conform and follow like a lamb. I am not a lamb but a bird. A bird that will fly away and question the rest of the herd, to ensure they will questions ones actions and with the hope that someday they too will grow wings and break the manipulative bonds that hold them down. They too will see the light and accept a new way of life, full of knowledge and mystery.

The Detective!

For this post I took a picture from Bill Sullivan's art gallery and created a story based upon one of the people I saw. Here is my outcome:

His name is detective, Sean Smith. It’s 1930, and he can tell that today is going to be an interesting day. He has been working on a case for the past 6 months. This young girl not even a day over the age of 20 asked for his help. She wanted him to find a scientist that took her beloved hubby away. She said he worked on 8th street and Brewer Ave. when he went to find this guy, he was gone. Only the smell of sin was left. He has been on his tail city by city ever since. Each city he is one step closer to finding this criminal and putting an end to him. This was a cold night. He had a heavy jacket on, glasses, and a hat to conceal his identity. He reached the ware house where he would find the killer. He took out a gun for security purposes. He found the door was open and walked in suspiciously. The long hallway was dark. He began to walk slowly. His heart raced and each step sounded louder. He almost reached the end when out of nowhere he was grabbed and his mouth was covered. He soon blacked out.

The light shined so bright. He opened his eyes. He couldn’t see where he was. “Hello, detective”, said an unfamiliar voice. He looked around, but nothing. “I am Doctor Vancouver”, he spoke again. “What do you want?” Smith questioned. “ I want you to leave me alone and never bother me again”, Vancouver stated. “Do you plan to kill me?” Smith questioned with worry. There was a silence. “No, I am simply going to send you somewhere, where you can’t bother me”. Vancouver then grabbed something and flipped a switch. The lights in the room elongated and the world Smith was in began to change. Within moments Smith hit a floor. He heard footsteps all around. He slowly opened his eyes. Everything was different. Next to him was a plastic piece of paper. He picked it up and pushed off the floor. There where loud noises everywhere. He noticed everyone was going in one direction. Not to create a scene he followed. He noticed everyone was swiping their cards threw a whole and entering threw metal doors. He then noticed it was his turn, he took the plastic paper card, swiped it, and wearily stepped through the door.
